Why do you create?

Creation is my way of understanding and shaping the world. Through storytelling, I explore the human condition, reflect on societal issues, and inspire change. I believe that storytelling holds the power to heal, connect, and drive progress. Without creation, there is no evolution.

Short Bio:

Iris Olsson is a filmmaker, consultant, and creative coach with over 20 years of experience in film, television, and media. She specializes in documentary directing, script consulting, and creative development, empowering creators to think independently and push boundaries. Iris has directed award-winning documentaries, TV series, and short films, and has held key roles in the Finnish film industry, including film financier and artistic director of a major festival.

Her work has earned several prestigious awards, including the Prix Italia and Venla TV Awards, and she has been nominated for the European Film Award. Iris holds a Master's in Film and Television from Aalto University, combining academic knowledge with a hands-on approach. She believes in the power of observation and identification to spark new ideas and views the creative process as one of exploration, vulnerability, and growth. Through her storytelling, Iris connects people, inspires change, and fosters new ways of thinking.
