Bio
Jenni Rope creates works that blur the line between painting, sculpture, and textile design. Using rhythmic, repetitive brushstrokes and building up vibrant layers of paint, she creates works that trigger multisensory experiences. Rope’s public art centers on large-scale mobile sculptures and installations that respond to the airflow and architecture of public buildings. She is also an acclaimed print designer, having designed patterns for Finnish brands like Marimekko, Nanso and Vimma.
She holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki and a BA from the University of Art and Design Helsinki (now Aalto University). Since 2004, her works have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Finland and abroad, including Stockholm, Marseille and Tokyo. Her work is found in several private collections, and in the collections of the Oulu Art Museum, the Saastamoinen Foundation, the HAM Helsinki Art Museum, and the Finnish state collection.
