Confidants Speaker Service Aims to Bring Inspiration and Meaningful Work Concepts from Creative Professionals to the Corporate World
Helsinki, Finland - Nov 27th, 2024 - The newly launched Confidants speaker service stands out from other platforms by focusing on creative speakers. Confidants offers its clients unique speakers and content centered around the world of creative professionals and experts who continuously work on new ideas.
The service’s goal is to shake up thinking and spark unusual insights and reflections. While companies can hear the stories behind creative ideas and new perspectives, artists can find new meanings for their work through these encounters.
Confidants was founded by Laura Köönikkä, who is well-acquainted with Finnish creative professionals. Through her other company, Finnish Art Agency, she has helped artists with e.g. career challenges. Laura is also a coach and mentor, specializing in supporting and training professionals who create and innovate in the field of creative work in today’s changing environment.
“I’ve been working with artists and creative people since 2003. Over the years, I’ve heard incredibly brave and inspiring life stories and accounts of the creative processes behind their work. New ideas, a culture of experimentation, and trial and error are part of the daily life of creative professionals. The ability to innovate and renew doesn’t happen without free-flowing thoughts, which creative professionals constantly use in their work. For years, I’ve been thinking about how the corporate world could utilize these stories, and I believe Confidants is the solution,” says Laura Köönikkä.
Some of the speakers at Confidants include artist and designer Saara Renvall, artist and designer Daniel Palillo, designer Zeynep Falay von Flittner, author Saila-Mari Kohtala, designer Hanna Anonen, artist Katja Tukiainen, photographer Kreetta Järvenpää, fashion designer Anni Arela, dance movement therapist Kaisa Selin, art critic Laura Robertson (UK), curator Pirkko Siitari, artist Teemu Lehmusruusu, and coach Elsa Ervasti. In addition to giving talks, some speakers also facilitate, coach, and train audiences.
"In a small country, there's often a tendency to get stuck in too narrow circles. The same participants and familiar speakers are often invited to events. We need more new, thought-provoking ideas and inspiring speakers! Confidants joyfully breaks these bubbles – the fresh thinking of creative people inspires and creates entirely new perspectives. It’s a pleasure to be part of this boundary-breaking new service,” says author Saila-Mari Kohtala.
“Artists often work alone and apart from the corporate world. I suspect that many people don’t truly understand the level of expertise and impact that creative individuals have,” Köönikkä continues.
